Gospel Singer Buchi Atuonwu: Biography And Net Worth

Buchi Atuonwu, popularly known as Buchi, is a popular Nigerian reggae gospel singer. He started as a disc jockey in night clubs.

He was born in Kaduna on June 24, 1963 but hails from Ikwuano, Abia State in south eastern Nigeria. Buchi lived most of his life in Lagos. He is also a member of Christ Embassy’s LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry where he began his gospel music.

 

Educational Background

Buchi had his secondary education at Methodist College, Enugu and Federal Government College respectively.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literary Studies at the University of Lagos and a Master’s degree in the same discipline respectively.

 

Buchi took up an appointment with the University at the end of his program to lecture and eventually did his PhD program. He remained a staff member of the Department of English in the great institution before he called it quit in 1994 to yield to the calling to preach Christ through his God’s gifted talents in writing and singing in reggae music and poetry.

Buchi began his gospel music journey in 1994 when he resigned his lecturing job with the University of Lagos.

He has since dominated the gospel music scene through his brilliant writing and singing the word of God and winning souls with his style of music.

 

Buchi is indeed very creative and exceptionally talented Nigerian gospel singer. He has since released good number of studio albums and several books aimed at evangelizing and bringing people closer to Christ with his sound teaching of the word of God and writing.
