Clem Ohameze is a famous Nigerian actor, producer, director, politician and television personality.
He was born on the 27th June 1965 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He hails from Oguta, a community in Imo State in South eastern Nigeria. He however had his up-bringing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Clem had his primary and secondary school in Port Harcourt, Rivers state Nigeria, where he obtained the usual primary and secondary school certificates respectively. He later went to IMT, Enugu where he bagged a National Diploma (ND) in Mass Communication and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
His Acting Career
Clem Ohameze made his journey into acting career when he featured in several NTA drama series. He joined Nollywood in 1995 and rose to popularity after starring in a hit movie “End Time”. The movie attained a huge success and earned him the rare recognition in Nollywood and nomination for best actor in a leading role at the African Movie Academy Awards.
Clem is exceptionally creative and talented in acting and interpreting movie roles. He acts in most actions and emotional movies alongside top Nollywood stars like Nkem Owoh, Pete Edochie, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Ngozi Ezeonu and others.
He is a prolific Nollywood actor with over 200 movies to his credit. Some of the movies are Emotional Blunder, The Faithful Woman, Price of Ignorance, Butterfly, Back from Hell, Knight of the Night, Face of a Murderer, My Sister My Love, Thanksgiving, Billionaires Club, Evil Desire, King of Darkness and several others.
Clem Ohameze is highly resourceful and one of the strong Pillars and Pioneers of Nollywood. His long years of experience of acting have earned him enviable records in the movie industry.
He ventured into politics in 2007 to represent Ohaji-Egbema Oguta Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives under the platform of PDP. He however jettisoned the move when he smelled threat to his life. The cousin was not lucky enough as he was attacked and shot dead during the unfortunate incident.
Clem relocated to London his Master’s degree in Preventive and Social Medicine from Buckingham University of London in United Kingdom. At the completion of the programme, he returned to Nigeria to resume his full time acting business.
Since his return to Nigeria, he starred in another hit movie “Ije”, a movie he featured alongside Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and others. The movie was highly successful and earned him an award as best supporting actor at the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
