He was born in Kano state. He hails from Osun state but had his up-bringing in Kano State in northern Nigeria.
Eedris had his primary and secondary education in Kano state where he obtained his first and secondary school certificates respectively. He is known to be a strong critic of the Nigerian government with his kind of music.
Eedris began his music career in 1996 as a hip hop rapper. He is popular in singing mainly in pidgin English language. His messages centre on burning issues like corruption, bad government and how the situation can be salvaged in the country.
His hit single “Jaga Jaga” came under heavy criticism of the Obasanjo government who at the time placed a ban on his music on local and television stations across the country.
Eedris has released a number of hit singles like “Wackawickee MC’s, strongly criticized by Double X Posse, Tony Tellulla, Plantashun Boiz and others.
