Xploit Comedy is a group of four vibrant young Nigerians – Brizy, Chizzy, Lankz and Lenzi who are doing extremely well on social media stardom.
The group launched into the Nigerian digital space with about 285,000 followers on Instagram; over 400,000 Facebook followers and about 90,000 subscribers on YouTube page.
The name Exploit, they confirmed was picked from the Bible a few years ago when they were part of a drama team in the church, from the book of Daniel 11:32 precisely, which says that those that know their God shall be strong and do exploits. So, they got the name from that verse and coined it more socially ‘funky’.
Exploit, as the name implies has actually been doing exploits, making waves in the Nigerian comedy business.
They all started from the church; the drama group department and from there gained admission into the Imo State University. While in school, they continued with their drama in the church which eventually metamorphosed into Xploit Drama Group.
They started with Facebook, a platform which turned out to be their highest number of fans. They continued in the building of their brands through Facebook and YouTube and over time, launched their instagram page which had its fast growth with over 200,000 followers, 400,000 on Facebook and YouTube page boast of about 100,000 subscribers.
The idea which was sown by large number of fans gained more popularity in Church. The creativity and hilarious nature of their comedy attracted more and more people who advised them to begin in group and post out their skits on Facebook and instagram.
Exploit Comedy was not a bed of roses as it met with initial challenges. But their determination to succeed, hard work, coupled with their encouragements from fans, Exploit group has become a force to reckon with in the Nigerian business of comedy.
“We all had this dream of becoming popular; we knew that one day, the world would definitely notice us because we were very hard working people and we were fuelled by our desire and determination to succeed”.
In an interview, a member of the group revealed that it is very normal that the skits that have sexually related contents will always have higher number of views. For instance, “the skit that boosted our followership was the scanning bucket skit. The whole idea of the skit was that anybody who wanted to get married would be put inside a bucket and the bucket would tell how many partners the person had had; this would help the intended spouse know how much to pay for bride price. The skit went viral” he concluded.
Exploit Comedy also had popular celebrities like Don Jazzy, Olamide, and AY, repost some of their works and that helped boost their fan base because they tapped from their fan base as they reposted most of their works.
Exploit Comedy revealed that the particular skit went viral in several African countries like Tanzania and Uganda with the biggest Instagram pages in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya uploaded the skits on their pages which was a boost for their fan base.
So far, Exploit has a fan base in several countries around the world, the largest being Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Italy, Germany, Dubai and USA.
Again, Exploit Comedy centres on happenings everyday and has a number of celebrities in the likes of AY, Frank Donga, Toyin Abraham, Klint Da Drunk, among many others.
The group is out purely to entertain, educate and inspire young talented youths and not to post nude pictures or do any negative thing that will tarnish the reputation of the fans or the group itself.
Exploit comedy has means of making money ranging from advertisements on social media.
