Dzifa Gomashie is a famous and talented Ghanaian actress, producer, screen scriptwriter and a politician.
Gomashie was born in Accra, Ghana to Mr Patrick and Helen Dotse Gomashie.
Dzifa had her secondary education at St. Louis Senior High School in Kumasi, Ghana.
She later obtained a Diploma in Theatre Arts and a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Management from the University of Ghana and an MPhil in African Studies from the Institute of African Studies.
Her Acting Career
Gomashie kick-started her career as an actress in 1985 when she joined the Talents Theatre Company.
She has featured brilliantly in several Ghanaian movies, some of which are:
• Ghost Tears
• House of Pain
• Heart of Gold and a number of National Arts NAFTI student productions.
She has also played lead roles in plays like Black Star, Mambo, Chaka the Zulu, Jogolo and The Third Woman.

Dzifa is also a script writer. She wrote and produced ‘By The Fire Side’, a GTV programme that used story-telling to encourage children to have reading skills and culture which unfortunately is on hold because of financial constraints and sponsors.
In 2013, Dzifa Gomashie was appointed Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture by President John Dramani Mahama, a position she held till her party, the NDC lost the elections and handed over to the next government in 2017.
On 24 August 2019, she contested and won the bid to represent the Ketu South constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 elections.
Gomashie was honored by 3Music Awards for her achievement in the entertainment industry in Ghana.
Her Personal Life
Gomashie was married to the late Martin K.G Ahiaglo. The marriage did not yield fruit, but Dzifa was said to have had a son from a previous relationship.
