Collete Kosisochukwu Barbara is her real name, but widely called Collete Nwadike.
She is a popular Nigerian actress, tv series producer, model and Beauty Queen who emerged the first Black Queen Exquisite Face of the Universe 2015.
Collete was born April 6, 1991 in Markurdi, Benue state to Mr and Mrs Simon Angelina Nwadike. She hails from Nise in Awka-South Local Government Area of Anambra state. She is one of seven children in a family.
She also grew up in Markurdi where she had her elementary education before moving to Lagos to complete her secondary education.
Collete’s Educational Background
Collette attended different schools owing to the nature of her parent’s job. She had her primary education at God’s Heritage Nursery and Primary and Holy Ghost Nursery and primary school in Markurdi Benue state.
She went further to have her secondary school certificate at Anglican secondary school in Markurdi, Benue state and Caro secondary school in Olodi, Apapa, Lagos state.
She finally studied English and Literature at Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka in Anambra State.
Collete Nwadike’s Career
Collette began her career as a model, featuring in numerous modeling contests.
She contested in different pageants such as Miss Global Nigeria and Miss Earth Nigeria where she was the runner-up.
Collete Nwadike later emerged winner of Miss Tourism Nigeria in 2014 after which she was appointed special adviser to governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano.
The beauty star represented Nigeria in Exquisite Face of the Universe 2015 which took place at Sao Tome and Principe involving over 50 contestants from different countries of the world. She emerged victorious and was crowned the first Black Queen to have ever won the title.
She is a representative of the Miss Tourism Nigeria brand.
In an interview with Nwadike, she said: “As a young girl growing up, I was always seeing myself as a [beauty] queen when I was three. I kept on looking up to people like Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Regina Askia-Williams”. I saw how beautiful they were and how glamorous they looked. I thought of being like these people someday! This is a dream I’ve had for a long time. And it’s like I’m living my dreams now”.
Collate was also inspired by Agbani Darego.
