Esther Igbekele is a popular female gospel singer who sings majorly in Yoruba language. Her genre of music falls in the gospel pop category, similar to that of Yinka Ayefele and Tope Alabi.
She was born in Orile Iganmu, Lagos to the family of Pastor and Mrs. Isaac Oluwafemi Igbekele. Esther hails from Ifon, Ose Local Government of Ondo state. She has four other siblings, all boys.

Esther had her primary school education at Central Primary school, Orile Iganmu and African Church Grammar School Ifako Ijaye, both in Lagos State respectively.

Esther began her music career professionally in 1996. She participated and acquired music skills in a number of bands, including the band owned by Apostle Bankole, otherwise called Ilu Ayo Gospel Singer and many others.
She became widely and professionally known after her first debut in gospel songs, Gospel 2000.
In 2001, Esther released her first gospel album, ‘Breakthrough’.
She has so far released good and impressive albums which have been widely and joyfully received by her numerous fans across Nigeria, some of which are: Holyghost Knockout, Divine Upliftment, Oluwa Lo ni Glory and many more.
She currently has over 14 albums laden with spirit-filled and inspirational songs.
Esther was inspired by her parents, coming from music family background as her father was a choirmaster at Christ Apostolic Church Oke Anu, which invariably accelerated her speed in the field of music.
History was however made during a crusade when Apostle J. A Bankole discovered her rich talents in music which of course made him to sponsor Esther in her secondary school education. She had to move to Iju-Ishaga in Agege area of Lagos State to be with Apostle Bankole’s family.

Esther’s marital affairs are not known. She was said to have married a popular Alhaji in Lagos whose name still remains unknown till date. Their marriage was short live as both parties are now in their separate ways.
The talented gospel singer describes their marriage as a big mistake which almost ruined her music career. Esther is said to have two children, the last of which she had in September 2013.
She is presently married to a man whom she describes as her God ordained man, the identity of which remains top secret to the public and social media.
