Chioma Jesus, known by her professional name, has her real name as Amaka Okwuoha (nee Ebizie). She is a popular gospel singer and songwriter in the Nigerian gospel music industry.

Chioma was born on February 12, 1972 in Aba, Abia State where she grew up. She is the first child in a family of seven children. Her parents late, Nze Euzebius Chukwumaeze Ebizie and Lolo Dorathy Ebizie are originally from Ideato Local government area of Imo State.

Growing up was not that easy for Chioma as things eventually got worse when Amaka lost both parents leaving the responsibilities for her to cater for herself and other siblings.

Chioma Jesus attended Lake Mary High School for her primary education and Jesus College for her Secondary Education, both in Imo State respectively.

Chioma made her entry into the Nigerian gospel music after she met Christ and became born again, a passion she had at a young age of ten in her local church.

She became known for her inspirational worship and was invited to other churches to minister.

Early year 2000, Chioma was invited to St. Andrews Anglican Church, Port Harcourt. Her invitation marked the beginning of her break in the gospel tunes and since has remained on top of the table, thrilling, entertaining and impacting lives.

The beautiful and talented gospel singer has so far touched many lives with her spirit filled ministration and sonorous voice.  She has also performed at various Church concerts and events through the country.

Chioma became professionally known in 2003 in Port Harcourt when she released her hit gospel song, “Chioma Jesus”. Her popularity grew unimaginably.

Since then, Chioma has been a household name and has continued to ring a bell in the gospel music world.

She sings mostly in her local dialect, Igbo which has made her songs the favourite of many Igbo music lovers. She also released a song in Yoruba language at the early stage of her career.

Chioma Jesus was formerly a petty food trader. She abandoned it all to venture properly into her music and teachings of Christ. She is glad she took that profitable decision.

Chioma Jesus is also a humanitarian. She started the Inheritance of Mercy Foundation in Port Harcourt, Rivers state to encourage children to sing and express themselves vocally.

Chioma Jesus is happily married to her lovely husband, Evangelist Callistus Okwuoha and the marriage is blessed with three lovely children.

Every human being on earth is faced with one challenge or the other. Chioma also had a fare share of the challenges of life. After her first child who is a boy, Chioma Jesus struggled to conceive her second child after 15 years of waiting.
