Owumi was born to an actress mother, Tosan Ugbeye, who she described as a coach, trainer and a mother. She had her up-bringing in Lagos.

She starred in a hit movie, “Stolen Lives” which premiered on Ozone Cinema in Yaba, Lagos. In the movie, Owumi played the role of Amarachi, a young and naive secondary school student who was raped by her friend’s lover at his birthday party. She became pregnant and was rejected by her parents.
Added to her woes was that the rapist threatened her life as she refused to disclose his identity and her parents felt she betrayed their trust.
Owumi is indeed beautiful, creative, skillful and highly talented Nollywood star, known for good interpretation of roles in movies. She is known for her unique way of impressing her numerous fans and movie producers and directors in the industry.
