Daniel Kanayo Daniel is his real full name but popularly known and addressed as Daniel K Daniel. He is a Nigerian actor, event manager, a television personality, model and a rare philanthropist.
He was born on the 22nd of May 1986 in Maiduguri, Borno State in the northern part of Nigeria. He hails from Nenwe in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State in the south eastern Nigeria.
He was born into a Christian family and he is the first child in a family of four children. His father, Chris Daniel was a successful engineer and his mother, Kande Daniel was a Broadcaster and former National President of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists.
Educational Background
Daniel K Daniel had his primary and secondary education at the Command Children School and Command Day Secondary School, both in Enugu in 1996. After obtaining his First and secondary school Certificates respectively, he went to Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in Anambra State, Nigeria in the year 2004 where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry.
He had the ambition of becoming a trained pilot, but this dream was defeated when he was told he was short-sighted would be difficult to achieve his dream as a pilot with poor eyesight.
He however made a swift change into modeling and acting career.
His Acting Career
Daniel’s acting career dates back to his primary school days in Command Children School, when he led the Drama and Debating Club of his primary school.
Daniel K Daniel continued his modeling career while still in the university, doing series of television commercials for Zandas Cosmetics. After graduation from the university, he participated in some shows including the Abuja Moroccan Fashion Show.
After one of the shows, Daniel was introduced by a Super model by name Steiner Eunice Opara to a movie audition. Impressed by his brilliant performance, the directors in the movie audition gave him the opportunity to act his very first acting job in the Television series “All About Us” in 2009.
He is skillful, talented and gifted in acting and interpretation of movie roles. He can as well fit into any character assigned him by movie producers and directors in the industry.
He again featured in a BBC movie “Sarah’s Choice”, a movie directed by Mark Kusare. In that movie, he starred alongside O.C Ukeje, Seun Dada and Sylvia Oluchi.
Daniel built on his talents and recorded another successful movie “Sarah’s Choice”, where he played the role of an antagonist in the Amstel Malta Box Office. He starred alongside Nollywood top stars like Alex Usifo, Bukky Ahyi, Joke Silva, and Wole Ojo.
He also featured in another hit movie “Ladies Men” alongside Mercy Johnson, Alex Ekubo, Chigozie Atuanya, Afam Okereke. The movie was directed d by Afam Okereke. The movie was also successful with large volume of sales and it earned him huge fortune.
In 2011, after the mandatory service year, he returned to full time acting profession. Daniel has starred in over 100 movies some of which include Tempest, Lions of 76, Ivie, Same Difference, Paint My Life, Juju wood, Body of the King, Book of Magic, Matchmaker, Spirit Girl, Devil in Red, Girl, Mummy Dearest, Ambitious, among others.
He has also starred in several Television Series Spider Car Hire, My Treasure and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) radio drama series “Story Story and Neighbor My Neighbor” also had Daniel K Daniel as part of the cast.
