Alex Ekubo Okwaraeke is an award winning Nigerian actor, television personality and a model.

He was born on the 10^th of April 1986 in Lagos State. He hails from Arochukwu village in Abia State in south eastern Nigeria.

 

Educational Background

Alex Ekubo had his primary school education and later at Federal Government College, Daura in Katsina State in the northern part of Nigeria. After obtaining his first and secondary certificates respectively, he went to Cross River State Polytechnics to have a Diploma in Mass Communication.

He later went to the University of Calabar in Cross River State where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Law. Since then, he has been very active and relevant in the acting profession.

 

His Acting Career

Alex made his journey into Nollywood in 2005 and acted his first movie “Sinners in the House”. The movie was produced and directed by a notable producer Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen. In this movie, Alex took up a minor character.

He however built on his skills and rose to prominence after starring in a popular hit movie “Ladies Men”. He again featured in another blockbuster movie “Weekend Getaway”, which earned him an award as best supporting actor at Nollywood in 2013.

 

He has acted in over 60 Nollywood movies some of which are Diary of a Lagos Girl, Single Married and Complicated, Dream Walker, Undercover Lovers, True Citizens, Death Toll, All that Glitters, Keeping My Man, Gold Diggin, Lagos Cougars, In Cupboard, Champagne, Zero Hour among others.

Alex Ekubo is known to act in most romantic movies alongside top stars in the movie industry like Richard Mofe Domejo, Eve Oloja, Tonto Dikeh, Mike Godson, Chelsea Eze and others.

 

He also features prominently in television series like AY’s Crib, Married to the Game, Happy Family, Hope Bay, Secrets and Scandals.
