Rita had primary and secondary education in Onitsha in Anambra State where she obtained her first and secondary school certificates respectively. She later went to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State for her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication in 1990. Upon graduation, she worked briefly as a radio presenter with the Anambra State Broadcasting service before settling down as a full time actress from 1997 till date.
