Fathia Balogun is a multiple award-winning Nigerian actress, film-maker, producer and director.
She was born on the 5th of February 1969, in Ikeja, Lagos State. She hails from Ukwara town in Delta State, in the south southern Nigeria.
Educational Background
Fathia Balogun had her Nursery education at Olufunmila School, primary education at the Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive High School in Lagos state, where she obtained her first and secondary school certificates respectively.
She later went to Kwara State Polytechnics where she received a Diploma Certificate (ND).
Her Acting Career
Fathia Balogun began acting in the early 90s and has starred in a number of movies, especially in Yoruba speaking movies.
She is gifted, skillful and exceptionally talented in interpreting movie roles. She can as well play any role assigned her in the industry. She is known to act in Yoruba movies.
In one of the interviews granted City People Magazine, she revealed that she never wanted to go into acting profession. But as fate would have it, she saw herself waxing stronger in the entertainment industry, a move she attributed to the work of God.
She has starred, produced and directed several Nigerian movies over the years and has won several prestigious awards.
In 2008, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for the Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous and her movie Iranse Aje won the best indigenous film of the year.
Some of her movies include Farayola, Aje metta, Teni Teka, Omo Ale, Eku Eda, Agbelebu Mi, Basira Badia, Adakeja, Awawu among others. She acts alongside the big stars in the Yoruba movie industry like Iyabo Ojo, Yinka Quardri, Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola Aremu Afolayan and others.

- 2014 best actress of the year alongside Odunlade Adekola as best actor the year at the African Movie Academy Awards.
- 2015 Best indigenous language Yoruba Awards for a movie “Iya Alalake” Awards at the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
Her Personal Life
Fathia Balogun got married to Saheed Balogun and the marriage produced three children before the marriage came to an end. She however insisted they are still married and they will always be married.
