She was born on the 22nd of July in Lagos, the actual year of her birth not known. She had her up-bringing in Ojota area of Lagos but hails from Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State in the south southern Nigeria.

Doris had her primary and secondary education in Ojota, Lagos State where she obtained her first and secondary school certificates respectively. She later went to PEFTI Film Institute in Ajao Estate, Isolo Lagos to have a Diploma in Production Management. Since then, she has remained active and relevant in the Nigerian movie industry.

Doris joined the Nollywood in 2001. She acted her first movie “Oloju Ede”, a Yoruba movie. It was this movie that shot her to fame and earned her nomination at the prestigious African Movie Academy Awards for best supporting actress.
