Tade Ogidan whose real name is Akintade Ogidan, is a Nigerian Film and Television Screenwriter, Producer and Director.
He was born in Lagos, Nigeria, to middle class parents Akinola and Rachael Ogidan on July, 1960. He had his up-bringing in Surulere area of Lagos State in south western Nigeria.
Tade had his primary school education in the mid ‘60s into the ‘70s at Government Demonstration School and Surulere Baptist School, both in Lagos state.
He later went to secondary school at Ekiti Parapo College, Ido-Ekiti, and finally graduated at Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikeja, Lagos, in 1978.
Ogidan furthered his education at the Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM, USA. He completed a short stint at the State University of New York, in Buffalo, NY, USA.
His Acting Career
Tade’s journey into acting career began during his National Youth Service Corps program at the Nigerian Television Authority, (NTA) in Lagos. He became a full-time Producer/Director with NTA Channel 10, and a Continuity Announcer with NTA 2 – Channel 5, both in Lagos, Nigeria. During those numbers of years with NTA, he proved himself as competent and a man to watch.
At NTA, he produced and directed a number of television series including the Play Of The Week Drama series, Tele Theatre drama series, Legal Angle Series, The New Village Headmaster drama, and educative programmes on NTA National Network.
Tade Ogidan was however shot to fame and recognition as producer/director of hit episodes such as The Boys Next Door, and To Save a Falling Angel. Blinking Hope and The Reign Of Abiku written by the renowned Playwright, Sola Osofisan. The same movie earned him several awards at the Nigerian Festival of Television Programmes, NIFETEP 1986.
He is creative skillful and exceptionally talented actor. He knows to interpret movie roles and can as well accept any character assigned him in the industry. He is one of the strong members of Nollywood with long years of experience in the movie industry.
He is known to acts alongside the big stars in the movie industry like Sola Sobowale, Patience Ozokwor, Bimbo Manuel, Hafiz Oyetoro (Saka), Yinka Akanbi, Femi Adebayo, Gloria Young, Lepacious Bose, Jide Kosoko and other celebrities.
Tade Ogidan has well over 100 movies to his credit, some of which include like Dangerous Twins, Madam Dearest, Hostages, Owo Blow, Diamond Ring, Out Of Bounds, Raging Storm, 7 – 12, Playing Games, Ayo Mi Da and Family On Fire, Saving Alero, a number of which have earned him multiple awards both nationally and internationally.
Tade Ogidan set up OGD Pictures, Ltd, a name derived from his last name, OGIDAN for private productions after his voluntary retirement from NTA in 1990.

His team has successfully advertised for big companies like First Bank, FCMB, ABC Wax, Nigeria Export Processing Zone, Nigeria Airways, Prima Garnet, Verdant Zeal, Lintas, etc., packaging TVCs for Crystal Bank, Royco, Maggi, Ajinomoto Seasoning, Close Up Toothpaste, Arik Air and several others.
In 2013 Tade Ogidan-led OGD team packaged The Lagos State Governor’s Education Awards. It was a major breakthrough in musical show featuring over 100 Lagos State Public Secondary School pupils performing alongside Nigerian movie stars like Ireti Osayemi, Gideon Okeke, and Faithia Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Bello, Iya Awero, Yomi Fash Lanso, Sola Sobowale.
Tade Ogidan also packaged the 2014 edition of the Lagos State Governor’s Education Awards, a live musical drama that featured over 200 Lagos State Public Secondary School pupils performing alongside TV/Movie stars like Patience Ozokwor, Hafiz Oyetoro (Saka), Yinka Akanbi, Femi Adebayo, Gloria Young, Lepacious Bose and others.
Aside movie, Tade Ogidan also ventured into a big project known as OGD ALL STARS. The project, the first of its kind in the entertainment industry has several film and TV stars, musical tracks and videos. Top stars like Yinka Akanbi, Akin Lewis, Sola Sobowale, Deji Adenuga, Lanre Balogun, Lizzy Bariya, Dorin Onasanya, Teju Babyface, Saheed Balogun, Kunle Afolayan, Gabriel Afolayan, Funke Akindele Richard Mofe-Damijo,
and several others participated.
