He was born on the 29th September, 1977. He hails from Akanu village in Ohafia, Abia state. He is known for his hit songs “Oyoyo”, Good or Bad and Jupa.
J Martins had his primary and secondary education in Enugu state where he got his first and secondary school certificates respectively.
He later went to Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu for his Diploma in Mass Communication.
He went further to Enugu state University of Science and Technology to have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, J Martins decided to make a career in music.
J Martins kick-started his music career at a very tender age as a Choir in his church. It was at that time he learnt to be a multi-instrumentalist playing keyboards, guitar and saxophone musical instruments.
