Yemi Solade is a veteran Nollywood actor.
Yemi was born on the 31st of January 1960. He was born and raised in Surulere, Lagos State.
Yemi’s Educational Background
Yemi had his primary education at St. Acquilla primary school and Birch Freeman Secondary school, both in Surulere Lagos.
He later went to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in Osun State to have Bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Arts. He also acquired three Master’s degree from different Universities viz: Public Administration, ABU Zaria, Sociology and Anthropology, Leicester University, U.K and International Relations, OAU Ile-Ife respectively.
Yemi Solade was a lecturer at different Universities before venturing into full time acting. His work centres on both Yoruba and English movies.
Yemi Solade’s Acting Career
Yemi Solade began acting after he quitted lecturing jobs for acting, having experienced riots twice leading to the burning down of his house.
He made his first appearance as an actor in a 45 minute monologue on stage, titled “Crazy Youngie”, where he played the role of a passenger, driver and a conductor in an imaginary bus.
The talented and distinguished actor is known for taking roles in movies brilliantly and has pleased several fans in Nigeria with his acting skills. He can as well accept any character assigned him in most movies.

Yemi Solade married twice. He first married Shuwa Arab lady in the north, but came to an end with a claim that her parents wanted to Islamize him.
