Toyin Adegbola has her birth name as Oluwatoyin Oluwaremilekun Babatope-Adegbola. She is a Nigerian film actress, producer and director.
Toyin was born December 28, 1961 in Osun State where she had her primary and secondary education respectively.
Toyin’s Acting Career
Toyin began her acting career in 1983 in the Yoruba language films of Nollywood. She made her debut on screen in the optical film, Ejo N’gboro, produced in1983.
She clarified that her effort in the movie was her first screen debut and not her performance on yet another optical film, Kanakana, as widely believed.
Toyin starred in a Yoruba movie, Asewo To Re Mecca, produced by Chief Bayo Salami, aka Oga Bello, for Awada Kerikeri Organisation and directed by the accomplished filmmaker and administrator, Afolabi Adesanya.
Though the movie was banned at some point by the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) on the grounds that it abused religious sensibilities, the fact remains that the movie sold out in large volumes among fans of Yoruba movies.
Toyin has since featured in several Nollywood Yoruba movies, some of which include:

• Kanakana among others.
