Daniel Etim Effiong is his real full name. He is a popular Nollywood actor, movie producer and storyteller.

Etim was born on June 24 1988 in Jaji, Kaduna State. Etim grew up in Lagos before finally settling down in Abuja, Nigeria.

 

Etim Effiong’s Educational Background

Etim Effiong had his primary education at St Mary’s Private School, Lagos Island and Government College Ikorodu, Lagos where he obtained his primary and secondary school certificates respectively.

He thereafter studied Chemical Engineering at Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State Nigeria.
Etim also studied Film Marketing, Writing and Directing at the AFDA Film School and Film Making major at the University of Johannesburg both in South Africa.

Etim Effiong’s Career

Etim Effiong kick-started his acting career in 2011. He acted his first Nollywood web series Goddamit it’s Monday and then Ndani’s TV’s Gidi Up where he played the role of an infamous Folarin.
He doubled as an actor/character model for TV commercials before he eventually got a role as Adze in South African Soap Opera, Generations: The Legacy.

• 2020 Nominee for Best Actor in a comedy for a movie, Plan B (Movie or TV series) at Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

• Won the first runner-up prize at the MTN-Afrinolly short film competition by Afrinolly for young African filmmakers in 2014 as well as the Kumla Dumor prize for storytelling.

• Won the first prize at the Unilever-Mofilm Cannes Lion competition for the Project Sunlight brand for his work Thato’s Dream in 2015.

• As a director, his feature documentary ‘Skin’ was selected for official screenings at the Film Festivals across the world.

Etim’s Marital Life

Etim Effiong happily got married to the love of his life, Toyosi Philips, a Digital Media Strategist, Creator and Curator of short form content in June 2017. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter in January 2019.
