Claire Edun is her real name but popularly known as Oyinbo Princess meaning ‘White Princess’.
She is a British-born Nollywood actress, best known to be fluent in Nigerian Pidgin, which ultimately gave her a lead role in the movie (ATM) Authentic Tentative Marriage, in 2016, directed by Lancelot Imasuen.
Oyinbo was born to British parents and had her education in a private school and College in the United Kingdom. She grew up in Hampshire, performing in village Pantos, but is now on billboards around Africa.

Oyinbo whose family has no connection to Africa has always had a strong passion for acting and drama.
Upon leaving Greece where she previously worked briefly, Oyinbo got a job as an air hostess for British Airways which eventually ignited her love for Africa and Nigeria in particular.
Oyinbo rose to the limelight in 2015 after she posted a video of herself on Facebook talking in fluent pidgin English which Lancelot Imasuen later saw and afterwards handed her a role in the film (ATM) Authentic Tentative Marriage. In the movie, Oyinbo played the role of a British girl who came to Nigeria to marry a Nigerian man who wanted to live in Britain but learned to love his homeland through the eyes of his new wife.
Oyinbo has so far starred in Nollywood movies including (ATM) Authentic Tentative Marriage (2016) and others.
Oyinbo, which is a Nigerian word used to refer to a person of European descent or people perceived to not be culturally African has its term valid in Pidgin English.
Oyinbo’s Personal Life
Oyinbo is married to a Nigerian man, Richard Edun. The couple wedded some years back with photos showing the bride wearing both a traditional white gown and African wedding robes respectively.
Oyinbo revealed, ‘I lived in Peckham [south London] which is like little Africa and got to know pidgin by watching subtitled Nigerian films and listening to songs. I was so impressed with Africa because I had always been told that it was this dangerous place where everyone was starving and I guess I just believed that’.
‘But when I started visiting I discovered it was the most amazing place, people are so friendly. You have to be careful about your security, but it’s not all Boko Haram like we hear in Britain.’
