Nkiru was born on July 29 in Anambra State, though year of her birth is not known. Nkiru Umeh hails from Uga community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state in south eastern Nigeria.

The Nollywood actress was one of the people affected by the explosion
and expressed gratitude to Almighty God through her instagram page for sparing her life and her family. Sadly, she lost two houses and other valuables to the explosion.

Nkiru Umeh happily got married to her lovely husband at the young age of seventeen and their marriage is blessed with four children, 3 boys and a girl.
In an interview, the talented star revealed that her husband sometimes go with her to their movie shooting locations.
