Pastor David Ibiyeomie is a renowned Nigerian pastor, author, televangelist and the founder and General Overseer of Salvation Ministries (Home of Success) with its headquarters based in Plot 17 Birabi Street, GRA Phase 1, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

He was born on October 21, 1962 in Bonny Island, Rivers State, Nigeria to the family of late Chief Apollos Iganibo of Bolo Town in Ogu-Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Ibiyeomie’s Educational Background

David Ibiyeomie attended Banham Primary School and Government Comprehensive Secondary School Borikiri, both in Rivers State respectively.

He later bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt in 1980.

Ibiyeomie also attended full time Bible School in the Word of Faith Bible Institute (WOFBI), an arm of David Oyedepo’s Ministries in 1995. It was in the course of his training, he got influenced by Bishop Oyedepo’s Ministry standards and impact.

He kick-started Salvation Ministries on Sunday April 13, 1997 with 34 persons in attendance.

David Ibiyeomie’s Career

David Ibiyeomie began a house fellowship with his family in Victoria Island, Lagos upon completion of his Bible School training at Bishop David Oyedepo’s Word of Faith Bible Institute (WOFBI).

He later moved to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he started Salvation Ministries (Glorious Chapel) on April 13, 1997, with about 34 members in attendance.

In July 1997, the Church relocated to a larger plot of land with the numbers increasing unimaginably by the day.

By 2017, Salvation Ministries could boast of over 50,000 attendees every Sunday at its headquarters.

In February 2011, Salvation Ministries started 14 Satellite churches in one day, with all running five services each thereby making a new record in the history of Church growth and development.

A true evangelist and man of God, David Ibiyeomie pastors millions of worshippers spread all over the globe through his television ministry, via online ministration and with over 180 satellite churches within and outside the country and over 300 pastors assisting him.

As part of the divine vision received from God, David Ibiyeomie runs a virile television outreach named “Hour of Salvation” which started on NTA channel 10 Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria in 2001.

The ministry also runs in over 40 television stations locally and internationally. He also runs an online radio program on Salvation Radio which is listened to by millions of people across the world.

David Ibiyeomie also hosts the ‘5 Nights Of Glory’, a household program all-round the globe. No doubt, millions of people who are spiritually weak and burdened are now delivered through his biblical teachings and ministrations.

Due to his love and quest for knowledge and excellence, he established Chockhmah International Academy, the primary and secondary educational arm of Salvation Ministries.

The Pace-Setters University of the Commission is also currently under construction.

Pastor David Ibiyeomie also runs one of the most vibrant bible schools called Word of Life Bible Institute (WOLBI). It is a non–denominational Institute where the word of God is taught with the aim of equipping Christians with the knowledge to handle issues of life with results. The school runs three (3) different programmes – Basic Certificate Course, Advanced Certificate Course and Diploma Certificate Course. Since its inception in 1997, the school has produced thousands of well equipped and sound scholars from various denominations.

With over two decades of ministration, backed up by God, David Ibiyeomie undertakes giant projects like building a mega cathedral that runs into millions of dollars, acquiring over 200 Hectares of land for the university project and constructing all at once without any foreign aid, bank loan or financial pressure.

The man of God is also a humanitarian with strong commitment to building a caring and loving Society. This was aptly demonstrated by his love for humanity which prompted him to send relief materials to flood victims like Bayelsa, Jos and war-torn Liberia among others.

He also helps the needy – the widows, orphans and aged people through his scholarship programs and welfare schemes. Based on this, Pastor David Ibiyeomie awarded scholarship to 634 students in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions.

Ibiyeomie, through Salvation Ministries renovated and donated modern hospital equipment worth over two hundred thousand U.S Dollars to the pediatric section of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) Nigeria.

Other philanthropic services to mankind include donation of ambulance, renovation of fence of the Central State Primary School, Igwuruta and reconstruction of several roads in the city of Port Harcourt to make the environment more habitable and many others.

He is currently working on a home for the elderly in Port Harcourt which will be equipped with the state of the art facilities that will suit the personal needs of the senior citizens who require some assistance with daily activities and health care.

The renowned Pastor and evangelist has also built residential quarters, equipped with state of the art facilities for the staff and pastors’ comfort such as Glorious Court, Success Court, Kings’ Court and Teachers’ Quarters.

In 2010, he began the construction of what he calls a 120,000 seat temple in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria.

Controversies

Like every human being on earth, Ibiyeomie has had a fair share of controversies on multiple occasions.

In January 2017, David Ibiyeomie was alleged to have made prejudiced comments against the Ogoni people, making the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People to demand his apology.

In March 2017, a journalist by name, Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo alleged that Ibiyeomie was having an affair with Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo. Olunloyo was subsequently arrested and refused bail for defamation of character. Ibiyeomie strongly denied the allegation and the said journalist has since been released.
