Rayvanny, also professionally known as Vannyboy.Chui, has his real name as Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa. He is a famous Tanzanian singer, songwriter and recording artist signed to the WCB Wasafi record label till July, 2022.
He was born August 22, 1993 in Mbeya region of Tanzania. He grew up there and had his primary and secondary education respectively.
Rayvanny’s Music Career
Rayvanny began his music career in 2011 when he was still in high school and won a rap freestyle competition.
Prior to his break in the field of music, he joined a music group called Tip Top Connection in 2011, where he got more experience in his music career and connected with a lot of artists.
Rayvanny became widely and professionally known in 2015 when he made a giant strides in the industry, thrilling and entertaining his numerous fans across the globe. He eventually signed to music label, WCB Wasafi Records, owned and managed by Diamond Platinumz, also adjudged one of the biggest in his country.
In 2016, Rayvanny released his first song, “Kwetu”. The song was a big hit in the eastern region of Africa and earned him a nomination at the MTV Africa Music Award in the category of Breakthrough Act 2016.
In 2023, the talented Tanzanian music star founded his own record label, Next Level Music. Later in the same year 2023, Rayvanny collaborated with Maluma on the title “Mama Tetema”. “Mama Tetema” was certified Disco de Oro in 2022 by RIAA.
In July 2022, he left WCB to focus on his Record Label, Next Level Music.

Rayvanny has in the course of his music career been nominated for various awards, most notably as: AEUSA for Best New Talent, Uganda Entertainment Award for Best African Act, and BET Award for International Viewers’ Choice.
He also won the Vocalist Choice Awards at the 2018 BET Awards and was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the African Muzik Magazine Awards.
He is the most successful bongo flava musician in Tanzania from Mbeya region and founder and CEO of Next Level Music.
Later on August 1, 2022, a Colombian version of his song, Mama Tetema was released in collaboration with a Colombian musician. Maluma won him an award in EAEA People’s Choice, Best Global Collaboration category on East Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (EAEA).
His Personal Life
Ray Vanny is not yet married. He was said to be in a relationship which has hit the rock and both parties are now in their separate ways as a result of their irreconcilable differences. For now, the talented singer is taking his time to venture into another relationship.
He is said to have a son named, Jaydan Vanny.
