Tyler Gregory Okonma is his real name but nick-named Tyler the Creator, Ace, Tooth T, DJ Stank Saddy, Tyler Haler, Wolf Haley and Tyler Baudelaire. He is a renowned Nigerian-American  rapper, singer, song writer, record producer and an actor who has made a big name in the music industry.

Tyler was born on 6th of March, 1991 in Ladera Heights, California to a Nigerian father, with Igbo ancestry and an American mother of mixed African-American and European-Canadian descent.

Tyler never met his father because his father abandoned his mother before he was born. So he spent his early life living in the communities of Ladera Heights and Hawthorne, California.

Tyler was raised alongside his sister Lynda in their hometown.

In 2015, he was banned from accessing the UK for three to five years which forced him to cancel a string of tour dates supporting Cherry Bomb.

Tyler has since done a good number of hit albums including his fourth studio album “Flower Boy” (2017) and fifth album “Igor” (2019).

The fourth album was met with widespread acclaim and it was considered to be a contrast from his previous releases, as he experimented with more melody focused on jazz-fused sound.

The fifth Igor was also very successful as it got its widespread critical acclaim and it debuted number one on the US Billboard 200 becoming Tyler’s first number-one album in the United States.

He eventually won the Best Rap Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards.
