Folu Storms has her real birth name as Ada Afoluwake Ogunkeye. She is a popularly known award winning Nigerian On-Air Personality, actress, voice-over artiste and television host.
She was born on November 25, 1986 in Aguda, Surulere area of Lagos State.
Folu’s Educational Background
Folu had her primary and secondary education at Corona VI, Lagon Secondary School and finally at St Leonards Mayfield, all in Lagos State for her first and secondary school certificates respectively.
She later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) at Aberystwyth University and Masters degree (LLM) in the same discipline at the University of Bristol both in the UK.
Folu also has a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Pan African University.
Folu’s Career
Folu Storms worked briefly as a Lawyer before she kick-started her career in the media with the radio station 92.3 Inspiration FM in 2012.
She then competed for the MTV Base Africa’s VJ search and emerged one of the three finalists.
Folu thereafter worked as a presenter and content producer for Ndani TV where she produced a good and impressive numbers of Ndani TV shows like The New Africa Style, Juice Season 1, Guide & Young C.E.O and others.
She also co-hosted the Breakfast show at Smooth 98.1FM in Lagos, a programme that ran till 2019.
The beautiful and highly talented star has made a big name for herself in the Nigerian media whose focus is on projecting a positive and contemporary reality of Africans through celebration of life and love. Folu Storms is also a Nollywood actress. She joined the MTV Shuga in 2019 alongside Osas Ighodaro where she played the role of ‘Sope’, a mini-series highlighting the problems of Coronavirus in April 2020.
The series was written by Tunde Aladese and broadcast every night. It also had the support of the the World Health Organization with series based in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire and the story progresses using online conversations on location between the characters.
