He was born on September 3, 1970 in Chicago in Illinous, USA. He grew up in Detroit, Michigan in the USA.

Eric Thomas revealed that his growing up was full of challenges of life, as he was raised by a teenage mother who could not afford his basic needs of life. He was a victim of school dropout and homeless on the street of Detroit for 2 years.

As fate would have it, Eric met a Preacher who encouraged him to go back to school and eventually turned his life around. He went and graduated from the High school and took a job with Olive Garden, Westside of Detroit.
