Desmond Elliot, and Actor, Director, and of course recently turned politician was born in February 4, 1974 to a Yoruba man and an Igbo mother. He hails from Lagos State, Nigeria.
Desmond had his elementary education at Air Force School and later St. John’s College both in Jos, Nigeria. He later proceeded to the University of Lagos where he had a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
He was influenced by a friend to go into acting. He started playing roles in Soap Operas like everyday people, Too much and Saints and Sinners among others. He played a leading role in Nollywood actors and has featured in over 200 films including Men who cheat, Yahoo Millionaire and just too numerous to mention.
He co-produced and co-directed the Movie “Reloaded” which earned him 3 nominations at African Movie Academy Awards in 2009. He also won the best support Actor in a drama at the 2nd Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
Desmond Elliot is married to Vicky, a former banker who was later introduced to Nollywood and currently assisting him in managing his Company Denziot’s Productions. The company is located on the Island where she sells and distributes Desmond’s films and possibly receives her husband’s entitlements from films royalty.
The marriage is blessed with four kids – 2 sets of twins namely: Desmond, Denzel, Donald and Donna.
Desmond, we are told does not joke with his family. As a family man who has many engagements, he ensures he makes out time to spend with his family.
In 2015, Desmond was elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly through the platform of All Progress Congress from Surulere Constituency. This has generated lots of reactions from his fans who asked why he has to quit acting for politics. This question still awaits numerous of Desmond’s fans whether his intention was to make money from politics or help change the face of Nigerian politics as he has done in the film industry.
