Saint Obi: Biography And Net Worth

His real name is Obinna Nwafor. He is widely known as Saint Obi. He is a renowned Nigerian actor, producer, director, a businessman, television personality and a philanthropist.

Saint Obi was the only male child born into a family of nine children on 16th of November 1965 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in south southern Nigeria. He had his up-bringing in Jos, Plateau state Nigeria. He hails from Okpa, Mbaitolo Local government area of Imo State in south eastern Nigeria.

 

Educational Background

Saint Obi had his primary and later secondary education in Zang secondary commercial school in Jos. After obtaining the usual first and secondary school certificates respectively, he went to the University of Jos where he bagged a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts in the year 1991.

 

His Acting Career

Saint Obi made his journey into Nollywood in 1995. He made his debut movie “Take Me To Mama”, a movie he featured as Jerry alongside Nollywood stars like Nse Abel, Rachel Oniga enebeli Elebuwa  and Sam Ebi.

He rose to popularity in 1996 after starring in a famous Soap Operas on  NTA commercial series produced by Opa Williams. The movie was acclaimed the first in the history of Nollywood to receive corporate endorsement of Coca Cola and promoted by NTA.

His prominence grew to an enviable height in the movie industry with lots of fans acknowledging his talents.

Saint Obi is a strong pillar of Nollywood, creative, skillful and gifted in acting and interpretation of movie roles. He acts in most actions and romantic movies and he acts creditably well to portray acting as real life situation. No wonder, he sacrificed his Mercedes Benz car in a bomb blast scene just to make it real.

He acts in company of top Nollywood stars like Kanayo O. Kanayo, Jim Ikye, Pete Edochie, Ngozi Ezeonu, Genevieve Nnaji, Kenneth Okonkwo, Zack Orji and a host of other stars.

He has acted in over 200 movies, some of which include Heart of Gold, War Front, Good by Tomorrow, Candle Light, Executive Crime, The President Must Die, Take Me to Mama, Fantasy, Check Point, Street Fame, State of Emergency, Sleeping with the Enemy, Blue Sea, Benita among others.

His Personal Life  

Saint Obi married Lydia Saint Nwafor in December 2006 and the union is blessed with beautiful children.

Saint Obi is a successful businessman and a Philanthropist. He is CEO of Agwhyte International. The company is into film, television, media and consultancy and is reputed to telling Nigeria story and promoting Nollywood brand to the global world.

The company was a major media platform for former President Ebele Jonathan’s presidential campaign.
