Emeka Ike is a popular Nigerian actor, producer, director, an entrepreneur, investor and a philanthropist.
He was born to a Pastor father, Elder Nicholas Ignatius on the 17th of March 1967 in Mbano, Imo State. He hails from Aba branch in Etime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State in south eastern Nigeria. He however had his up-bringing in Lagos State and he is the second child in a family of five children.
Educational Background
Emeka Ike had his primary school education in Eko Primary school in Bariga, and Apata Memorial High school in Isolo, both in Lagos State. He later went to the University of Lagos where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
His Acting Career
Emeka joined the Nigerian Movie Industry (Nollywood) in 1995. He used to accept minor characters in most movies. He built on his performance and eventually rose to prominence in Nollywood. Seeing his improvement in acting, one Ernest Obi, a friend of his introduced Emeka to a producer, Charles Owoyemi, a notable producer of famous television series Fortunes. He acted his first hit movie “Not Man Enough”
Emeka Ike is skillful, talented and gifted in acting and interpreting movie roles. He can as well accept any character assigned him by movie producers and directors in the industry. He is known as playboy in Nollywood movies and is referred to as ‘Nollywood Badboi” where he plays rude and abuses women.
Emeka has acted in over 200 movies some of which include Divided Kingdom, Peace Maker, snake Girl, Warriors of Satan, Queen of Sheba, The Love Doctor, Foreign Affairs among others. Emeka is a versatile young man, an investor and a philanthropist. He is the Chief executive officer of Uzzi Construction Ltd, a position he occupied till 2009.
As a philanthropist, he constructed 3 Class room blocks at Nnsukka with Delta State Primary Education Board. He also participated in Rural Electrification project and a construction of 2 courtyard dormitories at Agba Ndele, Rivers State.
His Personal Life
Emeka is married to his long time dual citizen friend Rose Ebere, a Dutch citizen and a Nigerian woman. As would expected, the marriage was graced by top Nollywood celebrities and the marriage is blessed with four children.
