Yvonne Nelson is a popular Ghanaian actress, film producer, entrepreneur, an activist and a philanthropist.
She was born on November 12th in Accra Ghana. She hails from Cape Coast, in Ghana.
Educational Background
Yvonne had her primary education at St. Martin De Porres School in Accra and later Aggrey Memorial Senior High School in Accra Ghana where she obtained her first and secondary school certificates respectively.
She later went to Central University College in Ghana where she had a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.
Her Acting Career
Yvonne started her acting career in the year 2000 after series of auditions in Ghana. She eventually rose to fame and breakthrough in 2007 after a historic acting in a Ghanaian hit movie “Princess Tyra”.
In 2005, she participated in the prestigious Beauty Pageant “Miss Ghana” but lost gallantly. Her defeat did not dampen her spirit to make it in life.
She came to Nigeria to partake in a number of Nollywood movies. Her brilliant roles in Nollywood movies shot her to fame and recognition in Nigeria as a good actress to watch.

She set up Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation in 2013, a platform created to cater for people living with chronic eye problems. The foundation also helps the less priviledged and the physically challenged people in the society.
Also in 2013, Nelson received the prestigious GoWoman Magazine and Printex Awards for the success recorded in Glaucoma Foundation and her immeasurable contributions to the development of movie industry in Ghana.
