Tunji Bamishigbin is a veteran actor and movie producer and director known for Most Wanted in 1998 and Eeku-Ida in 2002.
Tunji is a graduate of Theatre Arts and Law.
Tunji’s Career
Tunji joined the Nigerian movie industry dated back to its inception. He worked briefly in the banking sector and later went back to the movie industry because of the strong passion he has for the profession.
Passion, Tunji said is ultimately what sustains one in the industry. According to him, there were people who came into the industry solely with the aim to become stars and in some instances, they didn’t get there.
Tunji has since acted, directed and produced a number of movies including:
· The Event
· Contractors
· Camouflage
· Most Wanted
· Diamond Ring among numerous others.
The veteran actor and movie producer revealed that the movie industry is still growing; it hasn’t really emerged.
He advised that films should first be shown in the cinemas before they are released to other channels of distribution.
Tunji has so far involved in television series, Palace, and other movie making. He however said he would not go into politics except it will give him time to focus on movie productions.
Tunji still practice as a solicitor and engaged in the property business and consulting. He revealed he has clients, both at home and abroad.
Tunji Bamishagbin also revealed that it takes a lot to be an actor, saying some people have all the talents and training while others do not but have training. In his words, “I am more of a production person than an actor. I enjoy directing which is the key field in the industry”.
Tunji’s Marital Life
Tunji happily got married to his sweetheart, a woman he met from his secondary school days. The union is blessed with lovely grown-up children.
He however remained grateful to God for the marriage has clocked over 30 years without staying apart from each other.
Tunji loves reading and travelling and dressing casually for comfort.
