Kiari Kendrell Cephus is his real name, but widely and popularly known as Offset. He is a famous American rap artist and songwriter and member of the Migos music group which comprises Quavo and Takeoff.

He was born on December 14, 1991 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, United States of America. Offset was raised by Quavo’s mother and Takeoff, his nephew respectively.

The trio teamed up to form a hip hop group called Polo in 2008, which they later changed to Migos, because according to them, Polo Club was a generic name.

Migos was therefore created to promote trap music, with huge returns on streams and downloads on the internet.

Offset’s Educational Background

Offset had his basic education at his hometown in Lawrenceville, Georgia, which of course was the apex of his educational pursuit.

He however made a career in his long time dream music and was known as a ‘trap’ king, due to his style of rap at the young age of eighteen.

Offset was also known to have involved in various juvenile cases while growing up. That not withstanding, he was determined to making it big in his rap music talent, alongside Quavo and Takeoff.

Offset began his music career professionally in 2008 when he teamed up with his siblings, Quavo and Takeoff to form a hip hop Migos music group.

In 2013, they released a single, ‘Versace’, a music that was widely adjudged a huge success and gained global recognition and increased their fan base on social media platform.

In 2015, Migos released their debut album called ‘Yung Rich Nation’ and in 2017, they came up with another hit single, ‘Bad and Boujee’.

The songs received wide recognition and the music videos made them stand out as they became a force to reckon with in the music space.

The song also topped the U.S Billboard chart, with the trio’s second album also making the top spot on the U.S Billboard 200 chart.

Over time, Offset’s artistry and collaboration with other top music artistes such like Drake, Cardi B, 21 Savage, and Macklemore earned him accolades in the rap music industry, with high returns on stream and downloads on the internet.

In February 22, 2019, Offset put out his first solo album, ‘Father of 4’, featuring Cardi B on a track titled ‘Clout’.

Awards and Nominations

Offset has in the course of his music career been nominated for various awards.

He got nominated alongside Cardi B in the Baewatch category at the BET Social Awards in 2018.

Offset was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 2020 in the category of Best Rap Performance for his song, Clout, featuring Cardi B.

His Personal Life

Offset was said to have entered into series of relationship. He got married to a fellow rapper, Cardi B, on a private occasion held on the 20th of September, 2017, a relationship that had its origin at a live performance held at Power 99’s Powerhouse in Philadelphia, USA the following month.

Sadly, their union lasted just a year, with Cardi B, announcing their break in December 2018, following Offset‘s infidelity issues.

Offset has since been a father of four children from four different mothers namely, Jordan Cephus (with Justine Watson), Kody Cephus (with Oriel Jamie), Kalea Marie Cephus (with Shya L’Amour), and Kulture Kiari Cephus and Wave Set Cephus (with Cardi B).

Offset was rumoured to have dated good number of ladies including Ayana Charm (2015-2017), Shya L’amour (2014), Oriel Jamie (2013-2016), Justine Watson (2008-2012), and Jai Nice and many others.
