The Federal Capital Territory Administration or Authority is highest decision-making body, headed by a Federal minister who serves as the mayor of the city. The FCTA has its head office located at Area 11, Garki, Abuja, Nigeria.

FCTA Salary Structure 2023

The Federal Capital Territory Administration uses the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS).  The salary for various grades and levels of the agency are summarized below:

  • Grade Level 7 (Step 1-15) – earns between N45,000 to N56,000.
  • Grade level 8 (Step 1-15) –   Made of University graduates and HNDs. They earn a monthly salary of between N63,000 to N97,000
  • Grade level 9 (Step 1-15) –   This category of staff with FCTA is made of University graduates and Masters holders. They earn about N77,000 to N114,000.
  • Grade level 10 (Step 1-15) –  This is of higher rank in the service of FCTA. They earn a monthly salary of between N83,000 to N123,000.
  • Grade level 12 (Step 1-11) –   Is of higher rank in FCTA with a monthly sum of between N88,000 to N127,000.
  • Grade level 13 (Step 1-11) –  This is of higher rank and earning than grade level 12. They earn a monthly sum of between N114,000 to N138,000.
  • Grade level 14 (Step 1-9) –   earns higher than grade level 13. Workers in FCTA receive a monthly salary of between N125,000 to N175,000.
  • Grade level 15 (Step 1-9) –   This of managerial position in the FCTA service with a monthly salary of about N163,000 to N217,000
  • Grade level 16 (Step 1-9) –   Is close to the highest rank in the service with a monthly salary of between N228,000 to N275,000.
  • Grade level 17 (Step 1-9) –   This is the highest rank and salary in the service of FCTA. They earn a watering monthly sum of between N392,000 to N597,000.

FCTA salary for Corps members is also revealed here. The FCTA pays a monthly sum of N15,000 to each of its corps member serving in the territory. This is however outside the Federal Government of Nigeria’s monthly allowance. FCTA receives an average of 100 Corps members per year.

It is important to note that tax payment and other deductions by the FCTA do not reflect here as they receive the officially assigned salary figures for their respective positions.

Ideally speaking, civil servants in FCTA spend a minimum of 3 years on each grade level, after which they are promoted to the next step within the same grade level, which makes a servant entitled to a slight increase in salary. This development is to keep employees motivated.

To sum up, it is important to note that in achieving increase in salary of FCTA civil servants, promotional examinations, long years of excellent service and high academic excellence are the needed criteria for elevation in the service.
