Recently, Bimbo came up with a movie, ‘One Fine Day’. After weeks of working on the movie, she premiered it at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The movie was a huge success, produced by Emem Isong and directed by Desmond Elliot. Bimbo Peters is the executive producer.
Speaking on the movie, Bimbo explained that the movie centres around two sisters (Tasha and Nina), who experienced more than their average share of sibling rivalry, which was worsened by Nina’s slightly disturbed state of mind.
When a tall, handsome stranger comes to have Tasha’s hand in marriage, Nina’s behaviour takes a turn for the worse.
The movie had the cast of top Nollywood stars like Funke Akindele, Joke Silva, Olu Jacobs, Frederick Leonard, Benjamin Touitou, Memry Savanhu and Bimbo Peters, who played the lead role.
Commenting on her lead role in the movie, Bimbo also had this to day: “It’s not deliberate that I played the lead role in the movie; I actually wanted to be a supporting actress. But when the story came and there was an elder and younger sister roles, I had to play the younger sister; there’s no way I could be elder sister to Funke Akindele. So, I took it upon myself to play the lead,” Bimbo stated.
Though she would not reveal the budget for the movie, ‘One Fine Day’ is estimated to cost huge fortune.
The versatile and talented Nollywood actress has since featured in productions like ‘The Good Wife’, ‘’Jenifer’s Diary and ‘Code of Silence’.
On winning the war against piracy, Bimbo urged the government and relevant agencies to brace up for the war against piracy, saying, “I think we have to get rid of these people hawking movies on traffic; move around Lagos and you will see them operating unchallenged”.
She lamented the unprofitability of producing movies in Nigeria and added that in the western world, the case is different, because there are formal channels for selling movies.
