| Temitope was born on the 14th of February, 1990 in Shagamu, Ogun State. Her parents are also from Shagamu. She is the first born of her parents but was brought up by her mother alone because her parents had a divorce when she was quite young.
She is a Christian, although she was brought up by Muslim parents.
Temitope’s Educational Background
Temitope Solaja attended the Ohani Nursery and Primary School in Shagamu, Ogun State and Ikene Community High School (ICHS), Ikene Remo, Ogun State where she obtained her First and secondary school certificates respectively.
She later bagged a degree in Mass Communication from Tai Solarin University of Education also in Ogun State.
Temitope Solaja’s Career
Temitope Solaja’s acting career started in 2007 when she auditioned to be an acting extra (among the witches extras) in the movie titled: “Bamitale” by Afeez Eniola, aka “Onile Ere”.
He was shooting part of the movie in the Tai Solarin University premise. He requested for interested would-be extras and Aruga was shortlisted by her friend Mr. Ejalonibu who was his friend.
She was successful during the audition which had Adebayo Tijani and Afeez Eniola as the panelists.
Propelled by her first experience in a movie, she picked up the enrollment form and joined the Afeez Eniola group a few weeks later.
Temitope continued to act while still in school, she had to shuttle between the school and movie locations mostly in Oyo state. This development led to her having an extra year in her studies.
The talented actress has featured mostly in Yoruba movies, she featured only once in an English Nollywood movie: “The Antique” (2014) directed by Dj Tee, written and produced by Darasen Richards.
In 2015, Temitope Solaja wrote and produced her first movie titled: “Aruga”, directed by renowned actor, writer, and director Antar Laniyan.
She got her nickname from the movie title owning to the movie successes.
In 2017, Aruga as she was fondly called produced the movie titled: “Ashabi Akata” by directed by Ibrahim Yekini (Itele d’icon), written by Azeezat Shoronmu, and featuring lead stars like Bimbo Oshin, Niyi Johnson, and Jumoke George.
She is also the brain behind other movies including Orente and Empire.
Aside a professional actress, Temitope Solaja is also an entrepreneur. She owns an exquisite fashion outfit named Star Girl Luxury Store that deals in original natural human hair and selected ladies wear.
Temitope doubles as a social media influencer.

Temitope is a free spirited lady who loves to enjoy her life. She is a fan of good things like branded clothes, bags, shoes, jewellery and other accessories..
