Ray Emodi, is an award-winning Nigerian actor, writer, model and musician.

Ray  was born on 4 September 1990 in Enugu state in south east Nigeria. Ray hails from Anambra State. He is the son of a Nigerian politician and former senator, Joy Emodi.

He is one of the pioneers and strong pillars of the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood. Ray has a strong passion for acting, known for his foreign-sounding accent  and portrayal of lover boy characters in most Nollywood movies.

 

Emodi’s Educational Background

Ray studied Business Management and International Strategic Enterprises at Nottingham Trent University.
He later went to California to fully enhance his potentials in acting career by obtaining a degree in Acting at the New York Film Academy.

Ray Emodi acting career kick-started while pursuing his first degree in Nottingham, when he acted three movies. One of the movies he starred was endorsed by the former Senate President of Nigeria, Bukola Saraki.

He came to limelight after taking a lead role in a movie “Heaven on My Mind” in 2018, a Nigerian drama which had the cast of top Nollywood celebrities like of Ini Edo, Uche Jombo, Mercy Aigbe, Chika Chukwu, Femi Adebayo, and Adenu Adebo and other big stars.

Ray Emodi is handsome, creative and highly talented Nollywood actor, known for good interpretation of roles in movies. She can fit into any character given to him in movies brilliantly.

Ray Emodi’s personal life is not known. He is believed to be in a relationship with his level of fame and wealth in the industry.

Ray was rumoured to have dated a Nollywood actress, Nancy Isime which he denied, saying they were friends and colleagues in the industry.

He was rumoured to have entered into a relationship with another Nollywood actress, Destiny Etiko, with a wide spread rumour that they were planning to get married. Ray also denied it saying both of them had worked on a a movie project.

The famous Nollywood actor described his mother as his role model who played significant role in his movie career. In his words, Ray stated:

“Senator Joy Emodi is a role model. I don’t know if she has ever said this in any interview and she has done so many interviews. But there was a point in her life, I think she was pregnant and she was in law school and she had a fashion house with people working for her; she would go to Anambra, Onitsha I think, to go and buy materials herself. She was pregnant while doing this and still made it through law school.

“When she gave birth to us she was still hustling, she tried to make it in politics which is also a saturated market. You have children, you are a woman; so when you come, they look at you as a woman and there is another man that wants the same job that you want and they might think that this other man might be more credible than you, this is the impulsive response to seeing a woman and she made it in spite of all those challenges.”
