Mandy Uzonitsha is her real birth name. She is one of the pioneer female Nigerian stand-up comedians with great sense of humour.
She was born and raised in Delta State in south southern Nigeria. Her father is from Asaba, the Delta State capital and her mother, from the Urhobo-speaking part of the State. The actual date and year of her birth are not known.

Mandy’s Career
Mandy began her comedy skits with The Charly Boy Show in 1992.
The first time we had the first ever Ayo Animashun’s Girls’ Nite Out was the first time we had all the girls in the industry performing under one roof.
They were looking for a stand-up comedian and they wanted to get Binta Ayo-Mogaji who stays in Ibadan to crack jokes. As fate would have it, Mandy went for her normal Afro beat songs during which she accepted to do the work which was the beginning of her journey into comedy.
Mandy is creative, skillful and highly talented comedian doing comedy and making people laugh. Her comedy skits centre around social, political and economic issues in Nigeria.
On the relationship between female comedians and the male counterparts, Mandy revealed they are together though female comedy has not taken the centre stage.
She has worked with top Nigerian comedians like Basket Mouth, Seyi Law, Helen Paul, Akpororo and many others.
Mandy however stated that comedy is not like you go to the University to learn theater arts. It’s a gift to be hilarious and not learned, she concluded.
Mandy cited top and good female Nigerian comedians to include Helen Paul, who she said is very good, she does mimicry of a little baby, Dudu Evans, the albino girl, Deola Chatterbucks, Najite Dede that’s now into directing and the rest.
Mandy advised up-coming female comedians who have the talents in them to get in touch with her as she would take such persons for events where they would showcase their talents.
Comedy, according to Mandy has been very rewarding. Apart from opening new doors and meeting people, it has helped her to put food on her table and pay other bills.

Mandy is a proud mother of a daughter named April. She revealed she is handful and always proud of her because she’s always tops, unlike when she, Mandy was growing up. She makes her happy and on her part, she does everything to give her the best in life.
