recently, precisely few weeks ago in 2018, fans and friends of Bovi and i Go Dye were shocked when they exchanged heated words on Instagram. it was quite shocking because in Nigeria, the comedy industry titans have always acted like on big family and it is quite rare to see them fight in the public.
However, in chat with Saturday Beats, popular comedian Bovi said it was natural for friends to fight and settle their differences. he explained that his relationship with I Go Dye is still cordial. in his words, “we re very cool; what are friends for if they don’t disagree and quarrel once in a while”.
the popular comedian who recently marked his ninth year wedding anniversary with his wife and the mother of his three children, said there was no secret to his happy marriage. he further mentioned on his Instagram page that he would be having his own country and unveiling his personal flag in his upcoming show – Man on Fie – in Dallas.
Responding to what inspired that statement, the comedian, however stated that he was only fooling around. “i’m just fooling around. i already feel like i have my own though. most Nigerians do. if your provide your won light, water, security, and health care, you’re more of your own government without sovereignty.
“it’s good. last time i was there (Dallas), it was a blast. comedy has that tradition of judging from the promises to be the same this year,” he said.
Bovi who recently replied a comment on social media, which some people considered nasty, told Saturday Beat that comments would not define him; instead they define those say them. Most of the time, it’s all love. The only time you will see me drawn into a reply is when you try to touch a third party with falsehood. I’m usually forced to put them straight. But if I’m realy not bothered. It’s all fun.
In his words, “like i said earlier, it doesn’t define me. It defines the writer. When i reply, it’s usually to set the facts right. It comes from a good place. If i didn’t care, I would be on a blocking spree and for me that doesn’t solve all problems”.
