Ini Edo was born into the family of 4 children in April 23,1982 in Ibibio, Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. She is a Nigerian actress. She began her movie career in the year 2000 and has featured in over 150 movies since that time.
In 2013, she featured as a judge for the Miss Black Africa Uk Pageant and was appointed as the United Nations Habitat Youth Envoy in 2011 by The United Nations.
Her Educational Background
Ini Edo had her elementary education and Cornelius Connely College in Uyo for her secondary school. She thereafter went to the University of Uyo where she bagged a Diploma in Theatre Arts. She also had her bachelor’s degree at the University of Calabar in English Language.
In 2014, we learnt she got a scholarship to study law at National Open University of Nigeria. Whether she has continued the law programme or not, is not yet known.
Ini Edo started her acting career in the year 2000 with her debut in Thick Madam. In one of the audition, she attended, Ini Edo was singled out by a producer as star. But her real breakthrough was in 2004 when she acted in World Apart. Since then, she has featured in over 150 movies and regarded as one of the highest-paid actresses in Nigeria and Africa in general.
Ini Edo has had deal with a number of giant organisations including:
- GLO Brand Ambassador for ten years from 2006 to 2016
- In 2010 she was named the Brand Ambassador of Noble Hair.
- Ini Edo is also the Brand Ambassador of Slim Tea Nigeria and others.
Ini Edo was appointed Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Culture And Tourism by the current Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel in 2016 and is currently holding the office till now.
She married to Philip Ehiagwina in 2008.
