Gordons whose real name is Godwin Komone is a popular Nigerian comedian who had a very humble beginning.
Gordons was born and raised in Warri, Delta State. He is from the Urhobo speaking tribe of Delta state and the first child in a polygamous family.
Educational Background
Gordons attended Ighogbadu Primary School in the heart of Warri and later had his secondary education in Nana College also in Warri.
He later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Science from Delta State University Abraka in 1998.
His Career
Gordon’s gifted talents in comedy was first noticed from the popular Delta state based Gospel music comedy group known as D.C Envoy.
He used to play music comedy on campus when he was in school. His poverty-stricken background did not deter him from forging ahead in life. And as a teenager of less than 13 years of age, he was already a star and a breadwinner.
Before making it in standup comedy, Gordons tried to own his own church but was not successful. This however did not dampen his spirit to succeed. He tried his hands in many things including going solo in music and becoming the resident pastor of Rainbow Christian Assembly, Jakpa branch, also in Warri.
Many believed that his church background, influenced him greatly especially in the area of comedy hence he often adds ‘hallelujah’ to his jokes and does more gospel music whenever such opportunity arises.
Today, Gordons is considered one of the most talented, most gifted and richest comedians in Nigeria as he charges mouth- watering fees for his shows.
He has a comedy show known as Gordons Comedy Clinic which stands out as his engine room of comedy for most of his performances.
His stage name Gordons was given to him by his friends when Gordons Spark and Gordons gin first came into the Nigerian market. Again, music sort him out in his early twenties when his childhood friend, Obus Zelee, formed their group. What originally looked childish and of no positive beginning on the Karien Streets, near Emiberen Street, Okumagba Avenue, later turned young stars everywhere in Nigeria for performance.
He joined the team of Made in Warri created by Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD). While being featured on the stage of Made In Warri, he got launched on the big stage of Experience in 2006, where the big story of his life actually began.
He has featured in different platforms including AY Live Shows, A Nite of a thousand laughs, and several others.
Gordons has anchored several events and appeared on stages both within and abroad where he was and still being paid handsomely for his shows.
His Gordons Comedy Clinic is one of the sources where he earns the bulk of his money including the popular CDs sold everywhere in Nigeria.

Gordons has entered endorsement deals with a number of organizations, including Ifeanyi Uba’s Authority Newspaper, Neon Fashion brand and Globalcom, a communication giant where he earns more from endorsements and booking worth millions of Naira.
Gordians is the first Nigerian comedian to feature on CNN giant TV news outlet.

Challenges
Like any other man on earth, Gordons has met with challenges. But ability to overcome any challenge or challenges in life makes a man. Though he tried his hands at several entertainment projects that didn’t yield good result, he remained focused until his breakthrough came in 2006 at the Experience held at TBS.
His Belief
Gordons believes that humility is the bedrock of social transformation process. To him, God is the only one that can elevate a man. But when a man brings himself down in humility, God would lift him up in His time.
According to him, the way up is down, meaning that if you want to get up, you would have to be down first so you can appreciate it better when you get up.
Many believe that Gordons unique way of dramatizing comedy sort him out among his contemporaries.
He single-handedly anchored ‘A Nite of a Thousand Laugh’, the 11th and 12th editions.
