Richard Eyimofe Damijo is his real name, popularly known as (RMD) is a renowned Nollywood actor, Director, Producer, a Politician and a Philanthropist who has made big name in the movie industry.
He was born 6th July, 1961 in Aladja Town in Warri, Delta State of Nigeria. He is one of the 18 children born into a polygamous home and the only child of his mother.
Richard Mofe Damijo is one of the strong pillars of Nollywood who is still very relevant in the industry. One cannot talk of the movie industry in Nigeria without him. He currently runs a movie on Africa Independent Television (AIT) every Sunday evening.

Richard Mofe had his elementary and secondary education in Midwest College both in Warri in Delta State and proceeded to the University of Benin to have a degree in Theatre Arts in 1997. He later went to the University of Lagos to study law and graduated in 2004 with a Master’s degree in law.

His acting actually started in his days in the secondary school, when he was actively involved in drama and performing and was a member of the Drama Club in his school.
Mofe worked briefly as a journalist and widely known as ‘Mee’ before venturing into full time acting. He joined the Nollywood and featured in his first TV Soap Opera “Ripples”. The popularity of this movie brought him to acting limelight. The movie also won him an award for the Best Actor in a leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. Since then, he has proved himself to be really good.
Mofe’s sound display of professionalism and gifted talents probably endeared him to then governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan who appointed him as Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in January, 2009.

Richard Mofe got married to his old time girl friend Mary Ellen Ezekiel. Unfortunately, the wife died untimely. In the year 2000, he again re-married to Jumobi Adegbesan and Yoruba woman by tribe and the marriage is blessed with 4 children.
