His real name is Azubuike Chibuzor Nelson, who is widely known by his stage name as Phyno. He is a very popular Nigerian rapper, record producer, songwriter, singer, stage performance and a model.
Phyno was born on 9th October 1986 in Abakpa-Nike in Enugu State in South Eastern part of Nigeria but hails from Anambra State Nigeria. He had his upbringing in Enugu State before relocating to Lagos in 2007.
Educational Background
Phyno had his elementary and secondary education both in Enugu. He later went to obtain a National Diploma in Public Administration at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu. Since then, this young talented, creative rapper is increasingly becoming very popular, winning the hearts of millions of fans with his good genre of music.
This handsome young man kick-started his music career from secondary school days where he had options to become a Pilot or a doctor. However, as fate would have it, he went fully into music having learnt to play the drum and piano.
In 2003, Phyno made it to the top of his music career as he produced for top artistes in Nigeria like J. Martins, Timaya, Ruggedman, Flavour and others. He relocated to Lagos in 2007 where he committed his time and money fully to music and he openly declared that Raw and M.I Abaja are his inspiration in his music career.
Phyno has been a successful rapper and producer risen beyond everyone’s imagination to become one of the Nigerian biggest music star in the industry. His big hits include “Ghost Mode”, Parcel, Man of the Year, Father Father and several others.
He is renowned in Igbo rapping and pidgin English. No wonder he was nicknamed Phenomenal by his friend, Emeka and this has since remained his indelible trade mark. Again, the Ghost Mode” was a very successful hit which had Olamide featured in Yoruba and this collaborations added another sensation to his kind of music which of course is loved by his fans. It also helped to cement their relationship as good friends in the field of music.
