Matilda Eve Obaseki was born on March 19th, 1986 in Benin City, Oredo local government area of Edo state, Nigeria. She is a Nollywood actress, entrepreneur, and a philanthropist.
Her Early Life
Matilda is the last born of seven children to Pa Obaseki. She grew up in Benin City where she had her primary and secondary education. While studying English at the University of Benin, she quitted owing to her acting career which was so demanding.
TV series, Tinsel, was a long-term commitment with lots of hard work and energy and she could not combine her studies in Benin with acting in Lagos at the same time. She therefore, moved to Lagos to have a full time commitment. Since then, she has been very active and remained focused in the Nigerian acting industry.
Her Career
Matilda nearly missed the Tinsel auditions. We learnt that by the time she got there, the forms were exhausted. But her friend found a rumpled form on the floor and encouraged her to try her luck which of course, she obliged. She however, had to make a choice between studying and acting, and she chose the M-net soap because school would always be there, she thought.
Before Tinsel, she played the role of the maid in the TV programme US, where she featured in just three episodes before she had to leave for Tinsel. She played the main character, Angela Dede, in Tinsel.
Her first movie was the 2014 Steve Gukas film, a Place in the Stars where she worked alongside Gideon Okeke and Segun Arinze. Shooting indeed commenced in 2018. This was the beginning of her breakthrough.
Personal Life
Matilda got married to Arnold Mozia in Benin City on September 21st, 2013, after they had their first son on August 31st, 2012. They again had another son on January 1st, 2015.

Maltida is a proud recipient of several awards in the including the 2017 nomination for the City People Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress of the Year (English).
