Chidinma Ekile popularly known as (Chidinma) is a Nigerian singer, song writer and a stage performer. She was born in Ketu, Lagos State but hails from Imo State of Nigeria. She is the sixth of the seven children. She is beautiful and has an adorable voice.
Education
She had her primary and secondary education in ketu. After her primary and secondary education she relocated to Ikorodu with her family. She got admitted into the University of Lagos to study Mass Communication, but due the demand of the course of study at the University, and the reasonable progress she was making in the call to stardom at the Project Fame Ultima studios and competition, Chidinma abandoned the course for Sociology where she finally graduated in the same University of Lagos.
Her Music Career
Chidinma started her music career at a very tender age of 6 and at 10, she joined her Choir.
She rose to fame after winning the third season of MTN Project Fame West Africa. She was rewarded with N2.5 million, a Toyota Rav 4 and an album production.
Chidinma’s first singles “Jankoliko” was a hit that received a positive review featuring Sound Sultan. This was followed by Carry You Go, produced by Oscar Heman Ackah. The video for Jankoliko was directed by Clarence Peters and released on 4th June 2011.
Others are Kedike, Run Dia Mouth, Chidinma, her self-titled debut studio album. This particular album earned Chidinma Best Female West African Act at the 2012 Kora Awards and performed at the ceremony.
“Emi Ni Baller” was released in 2012 featuring her fellow label mates Tha Suspect and Illbliss. It was produced by Beatz and was rated top 10 songs that made 2013. The song also made her very popular in her music career, thereby making Chidinma the first ever female artiste to emerge the number 1 on MTV Base, Official Naija top 10 chart.
Other hits are Bless My Hustle, Oh Baby. The songs and video produced by these hits were released in 2014 by Young D and directed by Clarence Peters and Stars Ngozi Nwosu and OC Ukeje respectively.
