Samuel Dedetoku is his real name but known and widely addressed as Sam Dede. He is a Nigerian celebrated actor, director, producer, politician, lecturer and a rare Philanthropist.
Sam Dede was born on the 17th of November, 1965 in Lagos to the family of Pa Dede and Elsie Iyenginabaibo Abel of Ogbodo in Okirika Local Government Area of Rivers State, in South Southern Nigeria. He was however born and bred up in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Educational Background
Sam Dede had his primary and secondary education in Lagos State. After obtaining his first and secondary certificates respectively, he went to the University of Port Harcourt, where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts. He later went back to the University of Port Harcourt for his masters degree in the same discipline (Theatre Arts) after the one year mandatory National Service.
He has remained a lecturer with the University of Port Harcourt, in the Department of Theatre Arts and a prolific Nollywood actor with over 200 movies to his credit. He is a strong pillar of Nollywood and founding father, and has nurtured many upcoming actors and actresses and a key player in Nigeria movie industry.
