Olusola Sobowale, also known as Toyin Tomato, is a popular Nollywood actress, producer, director, screen writer and television personality.

She was born on the 20th of December 1965 in Ondo State in the South Western Nigeria to a retired principal and mother a retired teacher. She hails from Ondo state. Sola revealed later in years that the duo teachers were strict disciplinarian who nurtured her to be responsible and disciplined woman.

Sola is a beautiful, well gifted, creative and highly talented in acting and interpretation of movie roles who has the gift of fitting properly to any character assigned her by movie directors and producers in the Nigerian movie industry.

                        

Her Educational Background

Sola Sobowale had her primary and secondary education in Ondo State. After her primary and secondary certificates respectively, she went further to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Theatres from the University of Ibadan. She started acting in the year 1992 after joining Nollywood as a member of Awada Kerikeri group under the able-leadership of Adebayo Salami.

Sola Sobowale is a prolific actress who has had many write-ups, co-scripted, directed and produced several movies to her credit in Nigeria. She has over the years in her acting career scripted, produced and directed hit movies including the popular “Ohun Oko Somida”, a Nigerian movie that featured alongside actor Adebayo Salami in 2010.

Her other hit movies include “Dangerous Twins”, Family On Fire movies directed and produced  by veteran Tade Ogidan respectively.

 

She has acted in well over 100 movies including the popular and award winning movie “The wedding Party”, a movie she acted with veteran Nollywood celebrities in the likes of Jide Kosoko, Adesua Etomi, Richard Mofe Damijo, Banky W and other top stars. She is known to feature in both English and Yoruba movies where she plays motherly roles excellently. She revealed she earns as much as N500,000 to N1,500,000 per role in movies.

Other movies to credit include eri Okan, Asewo to re Mecca, the Wedding Party (1 &2), Wives on Strike 2 and many others.

Again, her children are said to be doing very well in their various discipline as an accountant, an advertising practitioner, an engineer and a make-up artist.
