Cynthia Okereke is a popular Nigerian actress, television personality, entrepreneur and a Philanthropist.

She was born on the 20^th of April, 1960 in Enugu State, in south eastern Nigeria. She is such a creative and talented Nollywood actress who knows how to act and fit into any character assigned her by movie producers and directors.

Cynthia Okereke had her primary and secondary education in Enugu. After her first and secondary school certificates respectively, she joined the Nigerian Movie industry (Nollywood) and featured in a popular movie “King Jaja of Opobo”, a movie that moved her to fame and recognition among movie stakeholders in the Nigerian movie industry.

Cynthia Okereke joined Nollywood in 1998 and was influenced and encouraged by her friend Obiagulu Nworji to take up a role in a movie “King Jaja of Opobo”. She performed the role brilliantly well to the admiration of movie producers and directors.

She became more popular after featuring in a Nollywood blockbuster movie “Osuofia In London”, a movie she starred in company of veteran Nollywood actor Nkem Owoh. The movie was shot in London and some areas in Nigeria. The same movie earned Cynthia a nomination as Best supporting actress in Nigeria at the African Movie Academy Awards.

The news of her death was made by her fellow colleague in the entertainment industry, Joseph Okechukwu, a movie producer. He expressed his deep sorrow, revealing that he had intended to pay for Cynthia Okereke’s flight ticket to America to continue their joint venture. The cause of her death is however not known.
