Walta Anagapukotanka Kalada is his name, (long name indeed) but widely known and addressed as Walta Anga. He is a Nigerian actor, television personality, a philanthropist and rare model.
He was born on 12th of January 1978 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in south southern Nigeria. He is the 3 child in a family of five children born to Chief Stephen and Mrs. Evlyn Anga.
Walta originates from Ogu, a community in Ogu Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State. He is such a creative and talented actor, gifted in acting and interpreting movie roles. He is also reputed as an actor who can accept any character assigned him by movie producers and directors in the industry.
Educational Background
Walta Anga had his primary education in Army Children School, Rainbow Town and Stella Maris College, later in County Grammar school, Ikwerre-Itche and finally in Government secondary school Ogu, all in Port Harcourt, Rivers state where he had his first and secondary school certificates respectively. He later went to the University of Port Harcourt, also in Rivers State where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts. He was known to be active on Campus as a promising actor. No wonder he earned an award for Best supporting actor after a brilliant stage performance in a play titled: “EDUFA” in the University of Port Harcourt.
Acting Career
Walta joined Nollywood in 2002 and acted in his first ever movie”Labista”. He acted a supporting character in company of top Nollywood actors like Jerry Amilo, Ernest Asuzu, Emma Ehumadu and others. The said movie earned him fortune and shot him to recognition and greatness in the movie industry.
After series of challenges which almost ruined his acting career, Walta went back to Enugu where Nollywood veterans in the persons of Nonso Diobi and Ehumadu Emma and a Nollywood director Ifeanyi Ogbonna who then encouraged and supported him.
Back on his feet again, Walta rose to fame after he starred in another blockbuster movie “New Jerusalem”, a movie produced by Ukaegbu and directed by Ifeanyi Ogbonna. He became prominent and the much talked about Nollywood actor in the movie industry.
He is a prolific Nigerian actor and has featured in over 100 movies to his name including the very few below: Deep Water, But I Love You, Heart of a Fighter, New Jerusalem, Labista, Dance to Grace, Brothers Battle among others. He is famous in acting in most romantic and action movies with Nollywood actresses like Mercy Johnson, Tonto Dikeh, Ini Edo and other top stars.
