Ime Bishop Umoh is widely known as Okon. He is a popular Nollywood comic actor, master of ceremony, a comedian and television personality.
He was born on July 15, 1981 in Ikot Nsit-Ibom, Akwa Ibom State in south southern Nigeria. He is naturally gifted, creative and talented in acting and comedy.
Educational Background
Ime Bishop had his primary and secondary education in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State where he obtained his first and secondary school certificates. He later went to the University of Uyo, also in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. He has since been very active and relevant in the Nigerian Movie industry.
Acting Career
Ime Bishop kick-started his acting at a very tender age, participating in stage drama at schools. He joined the Nigerian Movie Industry in 2007 when he started taking minor characters in movies.
He rose to popularity in 2008 after starring in a blockbuster movie “Uyai”, a local movie produced and directed by Emem Isong.
He grew to become more popular, improving by day in his acting skills after featuring in another Nollywood blockbuster movie “Okon Lagos”. This movie earned him the nickname Okon which people initially thought was his real name. It was this same movie produced by Emem Isong that brought him to fame and galvanized him to greatness in the movie industry.
Ime Bishop is widely known as a comic actor whose style of acting and unique voice always make people to laugh and forget painful moments in life. He is exceptionally gifted, creative and talented young actor with lots of experience in acting and comedy.
He is a prolific actor with over 150 Nollywood movies to his credit including Okon on the run, Okon the Driver, Okon and Jennifer, The Head Office, Vulcanizer, Jump and Pass, Udeme Mmi, Sak Sio, The Champion, The Place, Udo Facebook and several others too numerous to mention here.
