Amaechi Muonagor is a prominent Nollywood actor, producer, director, entrepreneur and a rare philanthropist.
He was born on the 20th of August, 1962 in Obosi, a community in Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State, in south eastern Nigeria.
Educational Background
Amaechi Muonagor had his primary school education and later secondary education in Oraifite Grammar school in Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State. After obtaining his first and secondary school certificates respectively, he went to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 1987.
After graduation, he worked briefly as a reporter with the News Agency of Nigeria. He finally quitted this job for acting career in 1998.
Acting Career
Amaechi joined the Nigerian Movie Industry in 1998 and featured in his first movie “Taboo”. In this movie, he acted as Chief Akunatakasi, a role he played very well alongside other Nollywood stars.
He became more popular and grained more recognition after starring in a blockbuster movie “Igodo”. This movie was not only famous, it won him the prestigious nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the African Movie Academy Awards.
Amaechi again starred in another hit movie “Aki na Ukwa”, a comedy movie he acted in company of Osita Iheme, Chinedu Ikedieze and other top Nollywood stars. The recognition and popularity of this hit movie also earned him nomination for Best actor in comedy at the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
Amaechi is a prolific and creative actor who has featured in over 200 movies since joining Nollywood. Some of the very few movies include Igodo, Village Rascal, Code of Silence, The Guilty, Woman Rapa, Without Goodbye, Most Wanted Kidnappers, Spirits among others. He is known to play the role of wicked person in most movies.
He is such a talented, skillful and well gifted in acting and interpreting movie roles.
